	THE FIREFLY 850 OFFSHORE RACE AND DAY SAILING CATAMARAN FIREFLY FOR SALE Last Regatta News concerning Fireflies: The Fireflies are participating in the Kings Cup as a one design class for the third successive year. For the 1^st time there will be 9 Fireflies participating. Mark Pescott, the designer, will be sailing Voodoo Child who won the Kings Cup in 2004 and a brand new Firefly, Blue nose will be participating in a regatta for the first time. Many sailors have seen these colorful cat’s screaming past. When returning to Kata, the Fireflies were already polished, cleaned up, and resting at anchor. The crews already in the beach bar. In a remarkable democratic way the owners are slowly gearing up to the ultimo of a one design class. Strong rumors are that most of them will have the same sail maker and sails in the future as well. The Firefly is a race catamaran for all ages, the oldest driver is 70+, the youngest in his 30’s, the last one not necessarily the fastest. Some owners import crew from all over the world, other sail with non experienced, or with local cracks, but boat speed is very much even. It all comes down to a good start, sailing in free lanes, and trimming every second. Who is going to win the 2008 Kings Cup, we don’t know. But for sure some egos will be bashed this year as the competition gets stronger. More Fireflies are on order, the Firefly class is slowly growing and all of them are based on Phuket.
